What a Great Feeling

Now all of you may or may not know, but back in July I decided it was time for me to change my hair style and went for a shorter style, what some people call a "drastic change".  Now mind you, this haircut is nothing new to me.  I have always had short hair and me having long hair was more of an experiment for me than anything else.

Before                                                                         After

Now it's time for me to head to work.  Did the usual, showered, dressed, put on makeup, did my hair - which took all of 30 minutes and not the hour it used to take.  I have arrived at work and the Oh-My-God-What-Did-You-Do, "looks great" remarks start.  All day long and the next day and the following week and yes it does feel great when you get a slew of compliments, but that is not really what I am writing about here. People commented on my hair whom I have never spoken to in my life, they just work in the same building.  Of course this whole time I have thanked every person who said "you look great".  That was the amazing part, you have no idea who notices you.  I feel bad that it took a "drastic change" for them to get up the courage to talk to me and then to throw out a compliment.  So this has now gone on month after month to my amazement.  So my last experience was today - two months later (my hair has surely grown since then) a women, both of us heading to the bathroom, stopped and said "I really love your hair".  In my head I thought, still after all this time people are still noticing - What A Great Feeling.

The moral of the story is, make sure you look good at all times, you never know who's watching and if you notice someone that you admire - for whatever reason, just say "Hi", I bet it will make their day.  And lastly, go out and do that "drastic" thing you've been thinking about and have never done and come back with pictures.

You look beautiful either way and I so glad that I've had time to get to know you!

Well not only did you get your hair cut but it looks like you changed the color too! LOVE IT!

And I soooo agree with the "moral of the story". It's so true. Sometimes just smiling at a person, a true honest to goodness smile will change someones day.

It's definitely a more sophisticated look! Not knowing you and from what I've read from your blogs, I think this style is more suited for your personality. Isn't it amazing what a great hair style can do for you ego!?

Love the new hairdo and color and the fact that many folks notice and don't mind saying how great you look. I often wonder why everyone is not more complimentary more. My idea is: if you feel it, say it. Make someone's day.

I definitely dig the shorter "do" on ya, it does look great :D

I'm also one for drastic changes...especially to my hair :D I even devoted a scrapbooking page to it, Hehe! You can see it on Facebook if you're really interested.

However, sometimes drastic isn't such a good thing! The last time I wacked my hair (way short, for me) I walked in the house and my hubby said "So is this pay back for me shaving my head?" LoL! Oopss!

But short hair is just so much EASIER isn't it??

I also switched back from blonde to red head...I have to say, I think red heads are really the ones who have more fun!

So....the contest is ending tomorrow?? Are you going to be on exact at noon to see who fights tooth and nail to the bitter end?

And are you happy the comment madness is coming to a close? Or sad to see us silly women stop stalking you?

Forgot to ask earlier...did you donate your hair when you got it cut? I just recently (well if you call a few months ago recent) donated 12 inches of my hair.

Just realized that you said to come back with pictures. My pictures are up on my blog. Before and after of my hair after chopping of 12 inches!
