Random Thoughts Tuesday #4

randomtuesday

It's TUESDAY, time for some randomness

Morning coffee is STILL the best!

Remember the bug bites that kept me awake at night, well they are healed thank goodness.  Now I have a Tree Frog that keeps me awake (which I attempted to assasinate over the weekend - not very successful)  and the same behind-the-wall beep; I slept on the couch because of IT, "it" being THE BEEP.  What beep you ask, well the story is in an earlier post. Rather amusing now, but not at the time.

It's fundraiser time!!  You know, the books you get to leaf through and decide what ugly wrapping paper you want (none for me) or other useless items you might possibly want. I don't even remember what I choose.    So today it's my turn, I brought in to work a box of chocolates to help raise funds for the marching band my daughter plays in.  I can't help to wonder how many pieces will be stolen.  Yes, people even steal in the corporate world. Can you imagine?!?

I am still working on getting a discreet pic of Mr. Hotty the Coastie at the apartment complex.

My daughter has chosen not to participate in Halloween this year, meaning she does NOT want to dress up and go trick-or-treating.  What does that mean?  Has she grown out of it?  Does she find it lame at 14 years old.  Maybe it's something else, like her friends aren't going, or we don't live in a good neighborhood - which we don't.  I have been trick-or-treating with her ever since she was born - DH passes out the candy.  It was something her and I did every year and now she doesn't want to go anymore.  I am crushed!

I need to get my car serviced - UGH, such an inconvenience.

Payday WhooHoo!!  Now I can pay my bills and watch it all fly out the door.  Paydays are great! Joking!

A old guy at my work place whom is a mere acquaintance told me about a dream he had the night before. Just came into my cube and started the story. I was listening but wondering at the same time why was he telling me about this creepy dream that he had that involved him and his two guardian angels when all of sudden he threw in the mix that I suddenly appeared in the dream between the two angels and he asked me what I was doing there - in his dream of course. ewww!!  I was creeped right out, wanting him to just go away.  He couldn't end his story fast enough for me.  Since I felt uncomfortable, is this an HR issue??

Mom, Are you really crushed that I won't go trick-or-treating? I still want a costume, I just dont know where to trick and treat?

Comment number two, Who is this creepy old fart? I wanna have a chat with him, about why you were in his dreams. You only dream about things ya think about, so he's thinking about you too. Yup I wanna meet him. Set up a date and time please. ;)

I'm sure a lot of people, creepy or not will be attracted to you. Cold shoulder him.

Payday for me too. Sometimes I look forward to payday but it usually is the same day I am broke again after paying the bills :) I am thankful for my job though!

I LOVE Halloween but I do remember when it became uncool to go trick or treating. What annoys me now is when teenagers come to the door for candy but they didn't dress up at all....show a little effort at least!

I knew I forgot something this morning....COFFEE! That might have made the day go much better. Oh well...there's always evening iced coffee and tomorrow morning. :)

Fundraisers are here for sure! Luckily for me and the PTA Board that I'm on we don't like all of the fundraisers that pretty much ask the parents to sell for "stuff" for their kids....so we got rid of them and now do other fun things. Including having the local High School Tech School come over and run the sound and record each grades productions. They get the expierence and we sell the DVDs for our fundraisers. The parents LOVED it last year and we're doing it again this year. Sometimes I love thinking outside the box. :)

Then again...if I was closer you might find some of that chocolate missing. :)

Can't wait to see that picture! Wish I had taken one of my construction guys I had mentioned earlier.

Awww...Halloween. Luckily Sam isn't there yet. He can't wait for it this year! He's only 9 years old though. And your daughter is really a sweetheart! But I'm sure you already know that. I love her comments up there.

"Car serviced" right now are very bad words in this house. After the accident and having to get that vehicle replaced our other one is now in the shop needing new brakes. It's much worse than we thought. $700 worse. YIKES. I hope that yours isn't as bad.

Old guy....tell him firmly that you don't like it and then if he does it again you then can take it to HR.

YUCK!

This comment is for your comment post below. You don't need to apologize for it. You tried it, you listened to your readers and now you know.

I do hope that you know that we still love you! :)

Ahh, fundraisers. It takes up so much classtime and hometime! They really do buy great things for the school though! I so appreciate my PTA and all they've done for us teachers!

OH GOOD! A nice loooong blog so I can post oodles of comment love without feeling guilty ;) :D

Morning coffee IS still the best! Have a full mug of it every day...YUMMMM....BUT I forgot to pick up more creamer shopping tonight..boo hiss to that!

Unknown said...

My spider bites are finally all gone but the one huge nasty one still left a mark....seriously still grosses me out!

Unknown said...

*GASP* people steal in the corporate world? Never heard of such a thing! The chocolate part sounds good though. Lucky for me I work for myself and my daughter's play mates are to young to sell anything ;) :D I know those days are coming though...

Unknown said...

LOL- you should just go up to Mr. Hottie Coastie and tell him you want a picture because your crazy friend who leaves you lots of comments who's also a Coastie wife wants to see him and see if I know him....he'll either have a major ego boost or he'll think you're a crazy stalker lady

Unknown said...

I think I quit doing the whole Halloween thing around 11 or 12...so don't feel bad that she's stopping now. Come up with a new grown up tradition for Halloween instead....maybe making a treat or getting manicures or eating out together?

Unknown said...

Cars needing to be maintained is LAME! It's just one of those things that shouldn't cost money because of how lame it is!

Unknown said...

LOL!!! To the payday comment because I seriously just said the exact same thing to a couple different ppl earlier today. Pay day for us too and it is all gone. Went shopping, paid bills, and POOF!!! Now you see it, now you don't!!!

Unknown said...

Not that I'm complaining...bills are paid and cupboards are full so I'm happy :D

Unknown said...

Eeeww!!! To creepy old man dreams! I had some weird dreams last night--but they weren't about you, lol! :) It's better than getting hit on by a trucker who's your grandpa's age though...worked at Wal-Mart through high school (and looked much older than I was) and had NASTY guys hit on me all the time! Ick!

Unknown said...

Though to be fair I had a lot of HOTT guys hit on me too...and that's actually where I met my hottie coastie hubby...so there you go :)

Unknown said...

Whew...done with this entry...on to the next!!!

Unknown said...

Oh and about the comment form (bellow) it didn't suck...me not being in first place anymore sucked! LOL!!!! Other than the whole comment counting thing I thought it was dandy...a bit of a pain to have to put your info in each time but HEY! if we're going to leave you bajillions of comments we might as well work for it right??!!

justicecw said...

Still loving my morning diet coke too!

justicecw said...

Am I the only one in the world who secretly likes kids fundraisers? It gives me an excuse to buy silly little things for myself like fun wrapping paper without feeling guilty about it.

justicecw said...

Can't believe people would steal fundraising chocolate...how low can you go?

justicecw said...

I need to get my car serviced too. The 50,000 check. I have never done preventative checks before in any car but I really need this one to last a looooong time so I think it is a good idea.

justicecw said...

That work guy...definately creepy. You can't help what you dream about but you can help who you tell it to the next day!

justicecw said...

Oh and as for HR...I say no because it makes it into a bigger issue but only you can know how he made you feel right?

Unknown said...

I am not going to HR - only if he tells me another one...lol

Kim said...

So...go up to the hottie and tell him that you would love to take his picture because all of your blogging friends would love to see him! :)

Kim said...

Day two of forgetting the morning coffee! Darn it! Maybe I need to use the timer. LOL

Keely said...

Totally an HR issue. They might call you in for further questioning about what, exactly, you WERE doing in his dreams and does THAT constitute some type of harassment?

...so maybe leave it.

I'd be bummed if my kid didn't want to go trick or treating either. I mean, he's only 2, so he doesn't really KNOW if he wants to go or not, but when he outgrows it I'll be sad.

Kim said...

So....any picture of the hottie yet???

Kim said...

How's the tree frog? Is he still alive? I do think they are cute but you're right...they can be very annoying.

Kim said...

Have you ever been able to figure out what the beep behind the wall is for sure? Has it stopped yet?

Kim said...

Okay...coffee maker is now set for tomorrow morning. Maybe I can finally join you all in a nice morning cup of joe tomorrow.

Kim said...

I do like the idea of Halloween manicures! Sometimes this makes me wish I had a girl. Maybe I'll just get one myself before we all go out.

Kim said...

Payday hits tomorrow morning for us. But you're right...it's almost all spent already and I don't even have it in the bank yet. Sad, sad, sad. Maybe next month I won't have a vehicle that needs major work or is totalled in an accident! Now that would be nice.

Unknown said...

Sooo....I'm beginning to think I should have done my referrals by leaving them for you one comment at a time! LOL! Then I would have won for sure :)

Unknown said...

Major Bummer about your car Kim, that really sucks :(

Unknown said...

Oh, and Kirsten, SO glad that your open house last night was a success! What fun!

Unknown said...

Still wish I could have come....although since I spent all my money as soon as I got it maybe it's better I couldn't ;) :D

justicecw said...

Sorry about the car Kim!

Kim said...

Thanks Nicole and Justice. It's never fun when it's not your fault.

Kim said...

Kirsten...your car...does it just need to be serviced like a check-up or more? Hope it's not more.

Kim said...

Back to the dream....at least you were sitting between two angels!
