Aloha Friday #2: Music

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that Hawaiians take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

If you’d like to participate, just answer my Aloha Friday question in the comments section and post your own question on your blog. Head to An Island Life and leave your link there. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

MY QUESTION:
What song gets you all verklempt (choked up inside)?

MY ANSWER:

Well, I'm a mush so I cry at a few different ones. Most recently, I cry when I hear Elliana's Song by Watermark. We're counting down the days until our Eliana is born and this song just makes me all choked up. :)

quite unexpected and srange choice for me is Pink - Please don't leave Me. Even though the video is funny in a sick twisted way if you put that aside and listen to the words you knew she was talking about her husband!
I'm a sucker for great words and she does it everytime lyrically she;s spot on!

Oh gosh! I know there are some, but I'm totally drawing a blank. A lot of them are worship songs, but I know there's others.

Not much of a country music fan but turns out both (!!) the songs that GET me choked up are country tunes. They are "The Dance" by Garth Brooks and "Live Like You Were Dying" by Tim McGraw.

Hmmm...I loved my wedding song "Ev'ry Mornin'" by Keb Mo, but going way back, Never Say Goodbye, by Bon Jovi and This is the Time by Billy Joel.

For me it has to be The Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler. I requested it on the radio the day my daughter graduated high school, because that's what she is to me.

I agree with Carmen. I love Bette, her voice, and that song goes straight to the heart. Gets me every time. Thanks for your comment. I had a cool Barbie wardrobe that held some Barbies with their clothes and accessories. Aloha and take care.

The first song and thought that has popped into this little head of mine is "Amazing Grace". Or any Christmas/Easter song. My grandfather was a Methodist pastor for 60+ years and when I sing them I can picture/hear him...then I get all verklempt.

Good question!

OMG!!!! Definately "Don't Take The Girl" by Tim McGraw. It is an older song by him so a lot of people don't know it. I literally have to turn it off if I don't want people to see me cry because I cry EVERY time I hear it...beautiful love song!

Spandau Ballet - True ..... How could I forget that song?

Jason Aledean's "Laughed Until We Cried" because it came out right around the time I got pregnant with my daughter and how they found out in the song she was pregnant is exactly what happened to us!!! :D :D :D

Another song that tears me up is "Just a Dream" by Carrie Underwood, as a military spouse it always hits the spot!!! (you can't tell I'm a country fan at all can you?)

It depends on my mood. Sometimes it's commercials!

It also depends on my time of the month. I find that I cry a good more from music when I'm...emotional!

Amazing Grace always seems to make me get teary eyed! Definately a beautiful song to me.

Another one for sure is one they play around the 4th of July often. I'm not sure what the real title is but it goes "I'm proud to be an American because at least I know I'm free..." It always makes me feel lucky that I was born here.
